Below are a few of the Wedding Mauritius team’s top tips to remember for your Mauritius wedding:

• Book as early as possible for your favourite choice of wedding date and location as Mauritius weddings are becoming increasingly popular and dates & hotels get booked very early.


• Start preparing all your wedding document photocopies and send them to Wedding Mauritius as soon as possible. Copies of these documents will have to be forwarded to your wedding coordinator at least 6 weeks prior to arrival of the couple in Mauritius.


• When buying your wedding clothes, consider the tropical climate of Mauritius; in most cases it will be quite warm therefore you should buy a simple dress in cool natural fabric and a light coloured suit in cotton or linen for the groom.


• When you have un-packed, hang your dress in a steamy bathroom to minimise creases.
  


• Make sure you video the wedding ceremony as it is the best way to show friends and relatives who were not there how beautiful the ceremony was.


• Remember to request your wedding options (photos, wedding cake, flowers…) well in advance.


• A typical wedding ceremony in Mauritius lasts about half an hour; we therefore advise you not to expect too much from it. However, do not hesitate to include a personal reading as Mauritian civil officers are always happy to include them during the ceremony.
